Tammy's Story
Tammy’s story is the heart behind On Country Care.
Before founding On Country Care, Tammy lived through her own journey of crisis, recovery and rebuilding. She knows first-hand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate complex systems, family separation and life-changing circumstances without the right support around you.
Now proudly 20 years sober, Tammy carries her lived experience with strength, honesty and purpose.
Her journey has shaped the way she supports families today. Tammy understands that when people are struggling, they do not need shame or judgement. They need someone who can listen, guide, advocate and walk beside them with compassion, respect and real understanding.
Through On Country Care, Tammy has turned her lived experience into a service that supports vulnerable children, young people and families across Casino and the Northern Rivers, New South Wales.
Her work is grounded in the belief that the right support at the right time can help families build safety, strengthen connection and create a different future for their children.
